There are several factors that make it neither efficient nor effective for the originating loan officer to attempt to resolve a problem loan because of the following dynamics:

The officer is badly distracted from the much more productive role as a producer of profitable banking relationships as they are primarily compensated to make loans, not effect loan repayments;
New Business/Relationship Lenders are typically inexperienced in loan workouts. They are significantly different from originations and require different skill sets; and
The officer’s existing business and personal relationship with the Borrower/Sponsor may compromise their ability to effect the most productive outcome for the Lender.

Team members Robert Mathes, Jack Rosenfeld and Bradley Siegel either held senior executive positions at commercial banks or were principals, borrowers or institutional investors throughout their careers. Our diverse experience in transaction origination and our management capability are unique as compared with the typical real estate investment advisory firm.
